A girl can dream of a world where she hold politicians and government agencies accountable, can't she?

I'm not hiring… but I'm confused as to why more people don't do something.

Baby step #1

Do something. Don’t stand there and expect someone to save you from a questionable election, culture war or more government force.

One way to become more involved in the world in which you live is to begin holding politicians accountable. Ask for a public record. Start with Wake County School System, or try your our your county school system and perform a simple internet search for, “ (your county) school public records,” then submit a short email stating something as simple as:

Good morning/evening.

How many instructional days of school were missed due to quarantining asymptomatic students and staff ?

Kindest regards,

(your name)

Take the following records request for example. Notice how the Wake County Public School refused to provide the record being requested (which seems like total BS) :

We can speculate this record may not exist, as based on recent public records and late night readings, it seems these staffers are getting most of their decision-driving info from a group I fondly refer to as ABC No-Science Collaborative.

I challenge you to observe how long it takes to receive a human reply. The people who make up this government-run school system appear to be controlling information which belongs to the public (very dangerous!), thus the reason your help is being summoned to lay an extra set of eyes on what should be very transparent, forthcoming and accessible information.

Of course, I never sought private information, but only general back and forth between the two government agencies(government school and health department). There are statutory limitations to certain records:

This is not the end of this request by any means. I still want the record and if they choose to claim “it’s in legal review,” I do not believe this alone entitles them to hide the record. If however, the legal requirement was met with one of the below exceptions to releases of confidential information, then they should state that reason.
